It is with great sadness that I announce that Naticook Day Camp will not open its doors in Summer 2020.
This evening; the Merrimack Town Council reviewed all of our proposed operating plans for this summer. While they acknowledged that we were extensively prepared to open camp this summer; they cited concerns for COVID-19 finding its way into camp and for the overall health & safety of our campers and staff in their final decision. After a lengthy discussion and a close vote; the Town Council voted to keep Naticook Day Camp closed this summer.
We know this is difficult news to hear as you were counting upon us as a safe place to send your child to camp this summer. We are disheartened that the final vote came down the way that it did. The joy and magic of the summer camp experience is something we wish we could provide for our campers and staff this summer. We recognize that camp is just what kids are craving and needing at this time. Camp provides a setting which is the opposite of social distancing – a worry free environment where we gather together, connect, learn and grow as individuals and develop lasting friendships.
We will begin processing refunds of all payments that you have made. Refunds are issued by check from the Town of Merrimack and will take a few weeks to be processed and then mailed out to you.
All we can do now is look forward to reopening Naticook Day Camp in 2021 and hope that you will consider joining us next summer.
