2022 Summer Concert Series

Come and join the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department this summer for our free weekly Summer Concert Series at Abbie Griffin Park. Concerts are held on Wednesday Nights from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. 


Concerts will feature a variety of musical performances including Oldies, Swing, Rhythm & Blues & Classic Rock music and more to fill the air! Bring your family & friends, blankets & chairs, & dinner to enjoy this free night of entertainment each week.


WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22ND - BEN RUDNICK

Ben Rudnick & Friends play the hippest family music around. With countless awards to their credit, including SEVEN Parent’s Choice awards, their adventurous, high-energy blend of happy, upbeat acoustic music is guaranteed to entertain the entire family. Bending musical styles from country to bluegrass, rock to second-line New Orleans, their original songs and fun takes on familiar tunes make you sing, make you dance and make you happy. This children's concert is held in conjunction with the Merrimack Public Library and the start of the Summer Reading Program. Tonight's concert runs from 6 - 7 pm


WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29TH - WATSON PARK BAND

Watson Park is an NH indie rock group originally from Merrimack NH. The group is a well known act in the seacoast area of New Hampshire, and has had the title track for their 2021 album "Safer Means of Travel" played on  Boston's 92.5 The River as a part of the station's homegrown music program 


WEDNESDAY, JULY 6TH - COLD CHOCOLATE

Cold Chocolate is a genre-bending Americana band that fuses folk, funk, and bluegrass to create a unique sound all their own.  Featuring Ethan Robbins on guitar, Ariel Bernstein on percussion, and  backed by some of the root's music scene's finest players, this group  from Boston is impressing audiences throughout New England and beyond.


WEDNESDAY, JULY 13TH - THE REMINISANTS

An annual favorite at the Summer Concert series;  the  Reminisants have been entertaining audiences of all ages throughout New  England since 1973. The band specializes in oldies music from the 1950s  through the ’90s, playing a collection of great music for all kinds of  musical tastes and generations.


WEDNESDAY, JULY 20th - BOB PRATTE BAND

The Bob Pratte Band" is New England's premier party band WHICH offers a wide variety of musical styles and performs with energy  and passion that will get you on your feet in no time. With vocals that  are pure and dynamic and a thumping rhythm section that is second to none! Their song selection straddling blues, classic rock, and pop rock, pulling out songs from multiple decades. 


WEDNESDAY, JULY 27TH - GREAT BAY SAILOR

Great  Bay Sailor has an extensive repertoire of maritime, Irish/Scottish,  British Musical Hall and traditional American songs and tunes.  


WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3RD - WHISKEY BUSINESS

After amazing the crowd at the Parks & Recreation Department's Halloween Party - Whiskey business returns to Merrimack to perform on the stage at Abbie Griffin Park. This local band hails from Derry and Auburn and performs country rock style of music. 


WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10TH - TIM PERRY ROCKS

There are not many musicians who can kill it performing  cover songs, then switch to an original tune that'll melts your ears.  Tim Perry is such a musician and rocks out at parties and events ranging  from weddings to corporate functions, festivals to intimate house  concerts. Hailing from Boston, Tim has performed all over Europe and the  US no matter where you are it can instantly bring you to another place and another state of mind. It is the back drop for life's memories performing the songs of those memories, new, old,  classic and contemporary; everything from Coldplay to Cole Porter, Bach to The Beatles


WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17TH -  MR. AARON MUSIC

Count on a thrilling musical adventure with award winning musician Mr. Aaron! Recently awarded “Best Children's Performer” from New Hampshire Magazine, Mr. Aaron never fails to delight audiences of all ages. Kids and grown-ups alike dance and laugh along to hits from his latest release, “Intergalactic Music Spectacular”, pop favorites, kids classics, and much more!  Mr Aaron has released 4 full length albums of music for kids, and one picture book. Mr. Aaron has delighted and inspired children and families all along the east coast. When he's not performing for kids, he performs with Bosey Joe, tours with 90's alt-rockers Luscious Jackson, and has been seen on The Late Show with David Letterman, and VH1. This concert is being held in conjunction with the end of the Merrimack Public Library's Summer Reading Program and will run from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.



INCLEMENT WEATHER

CONCERTS WILL BE HELD AT ABBIE GRIFFIN PARK FROM 6:00 - 8:00 PM


In the event of Inclement Weather on the day of a concert; check the status of the concert by going to our Facebook Page or the Parks & Recreation website. 


A decision will generally be posted by 1:00 pm whether the concert will be held that day or whether we  will move indoors to the John O'Leary Adult Community Center located at 4 Church Street.
