Come and join the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department this summer for our free weekly Summer Concert Series at Abbie Griffin Park. Concerts are held on Wednesday Nights from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
Concerts will feature a variety of musical performances including Oldies, Swing, Rhythm & Blues & Classic Rock music and more to fill the air! Bring your family & friends, blankets & chairs, & dinner to enjoy this free night of entertainment each week.
Wednesday, June 21st: Steve Blunt - Children's Concert
Award Winning Children's Musician, Steve Blunt is a New Hampshire singer/storyteller whose fun, upbeat performances delight audiences at schools, libraries & concert venues throughout New England. This concert is sponsored by the Friends of the Merrimack Public Library as part of the start of the Summer Reading Program.
Wednesday, June 28th: Crescendo's Gate
Crescendo's Gate is a NH based award winning rock band that exploded on the music scene in 2017. Along with a performance for the NH Governor, we have also been fortunate enough to showcase our talent at SNHU arena, Fisher Cat Stadium, and locations at Foxwoods Resort and Casino. We pride ourselves in being able to offer performances of softer acoustic or full band show for family type gatherings, restaurants, or stadiums. We've done it all professionally and always consider our clients needs. To date we have recorded several originals. We play favorite cover songs which influence our original music by putting back the familiar rock n roll soul that become instant fan favorites. We hope you you consider us for one of your future events, or come to one of our shows to show your support.
Wednesday, July 5th: Scenes - A Billy Joel Experience
Formerly known as Cold Spring Harbor Tribute Band; fan favorite Ben Eramo returns with his solo show to Wasserman Park this summer. Scenes is New England's premier tribute to Billy Joel, featuring a two-hour, hit filled show featuring classic hits such as "Uptown Girl", "My Life", "Piano Man", and more!
Wednesday, July 12th: The Reminisants
Always popular, the Reminisants make their Annual return to Merrimack. The Reminisants have been entertaining audiences of all ages throughout New England since 1973. The band specializes in oldies music from the 1950s through the ’90s, playing a collection of great music for all kinds of musical tastes and generations.
Wednesday, July 19th: Tru Diamond Tribute to Neil Diamond
Tru Diamond is a five-piece Neil Diamond tribute band from Massachusetts. It is said that they are the top Neil Diamond tribute in New England. Tru Diamond features Michael Anthony, and they make you feel that you are at a Neil Diamond concert
Wednesday, July 26th: Marc Berger
Marc Berger bringf a well choreographed mix of deep country folk songs with touches of bluegrass, roots, Americana, a little spicy cajun, and even a little indie with an effects laced lead acoustic guitar. It’s near impossible to sit through a set without feeling a musical kinship to something in every song.
Wednesday, August 2nd: The Twangtown Paramours
Nashville-based husband-and-wife duo Mike T. Lewis and MaryBeth Zamer, known on stage as The Twangtown Paramours, have made a name for themselves defying boundaries with their award-winning catalogue of Americana, folk, and blues anthems. With a slew of accolades for their three full-length albums, they’ve earned a loyal following, balancing serious instrumental and vocal chops with witty stage banter and a lighthearted approach to life.
Wednesday, August 9th: The Slakas
The Slakas are a 5 piece Nashua-based classic/modern rock, high energy cover band that has been playing local venues & events in the southern NH area since 2004. The band consists of five hard working people that are anything BUT Slakas! The Slakas sound and music has been evolving over the years and they enjoy playing challenging songs that are not widely covered by other bands. They cover a wide variety of artists such as Led Zeppelin, Heart, Journey, Bad Co., Donna Summer, Luke Bryan, Pearl Jam and many many more. Their goal is to play high energy music that will get you up on your feet dancing or at least singing along!
Wednesday, August 16th: Will Parker - Children's Concert
Will Parker is a children's songwriter and teaching artist who writes and performs music for "kids ages 1-100." During Will's whimsical and interactive shows, he plays guitar and harmonica and sings original songs that engage the audience in singing-along, dancing, high-fiving, and imaginative play. This concert is held in conjunction with the Merrimack Public Library and the conclusion of the summer reading program. This concert runs from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.
CONCERTS WILL BE HELD AT ABBIE GRIFFIN PARK FROM 6:00 - 8:00 PM
In the event of Inclement Weather on the day of a concert; check the status of the concert by going to our Facebook Page or the Parks & Recreation website.
A decision will generally be posted by 1:00 pm whether the concert will be held that day; whether we will move indoors or whether it will be cancelled.
