We are now just over 1 week away from the Town of Merrimack 28th Annual Halloween Party; which we're calling "The Monster Stroll". This year's event will take place on Saturday, October 24th from 12:00 - 3:00 pm at Wasserman Park.
In order to comply with the State of NH COVID-19 Guidelines and allow for proper social distancing; we had to limit the number of people who could attend the event. As such, this year's event is restricted to Merrimack, NH Residents Only! This event is SOLD OUT and walk in's will not be permitted. Those who registered must present their ticket to enter the event.
EVENT ARRIVAL & CHECK IN INFORMATION
When you arrive at Wasserman Park, there will be Police Department Volunteers that will direct you to available parking spaces in one of the two main parking lots at the top of the hill. One parking lot is behind the Parks & Recreation Department office and the second parking lot is near the Dog Park.
Once you exit your vehicle, you will travel to the Event Check In Table which will be located in front of the Parks & Recreation Office where you will need to hand in your ticket for each individual entering into the Event. Everyone must be present at time of entry. Please do not arrive at the check in tabl prior to the time slot listed on your tickets as you will not be allow entry until the proper check in time.
We ask that anyone who is sick or showing symptoms to stay home and not to attend the event.
Even though this is an outdoor event, all participants over the age of 2 must wear a mask during the event when they are unable to maintain 6 feet of social distancing from other families. Failure to comply will result in being denied entry into the event. This is for the safety of all attendees and community partners who are attending.
Once your family checks in, there will be a waiting queue that is spaced 6 feet apart from other families and then each family will be allowed to proceed into the event on a timed sequence of approximately every two minutes to ensure proper distancing.
What this year's event will look like?
The event will be held entirely outdoors and will look almost like a trick or trunk event. This is a walking event and attendees will visit each community partner in a specific order so that we do not have large crowds gathering in any one location.
Our community partners will setup games and activities in front of the various buildings in Wasserman Park and will be spread out. The activities will travel in a path that is approximately 1/2 of a mile in length and which uses mostly the Park Road (which will be closed for the event to allow for pedestrian traffic). There are some activities which will take place just off the roadway and closer to the cabins.
Our community organizations have been asked to run activities that the materials can either be cleaned between each family group visiting their station or to use disposable materials so that they are not being shared between different families.
Business & Community Organizations Confirmed for 2020: (as of 10/16/20)
· 9 Round
· Corky the Clown
· DJ Sam Walker
· Nixon, Audrey
While there will not be a costume contest this year; we encourage everyone to dress up and show off their costumes. There will be a photo booth that attendees can have their picture taken. Photos will be posted to our Facebook Page after the event.
While many of our community partners will be giving away candy or prizes at their stations; Merrimack Friends & Families will have a food table available which is located at Station #20 near the end of the event. They will be selling hot dogs, chips and water along with some baked goods. This is the only activity at the event that will have a fee associated with it. We hope that you will support them.
The current extended weather forecast for next Saturday indicates that temperatures will be in the Low 60's with partly sunny skies.
