The Safe Sitter® Babysitting Training Course prepares students in grades 6–8 to be safe and confident when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.
This interactive course is filled with fun activities, hands-on practice, and role-playing exercises that teach students how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with emergencies such as power outages, injuries, or severe weather.
Students learn age-appropriate child care techniques, behavior management strategies, and the stages of child development. Hands-on practice includes skills such as diapering and caring for young children.
Students learn how to respond to common injuries and illnesses using a step-by-step system. They also practice important safety skills such as choking rescue, which is often a favorite part of the class.
Students gain confidence and professionalism by learning how to screen babysitting jobs, discuss fees, communicate with parents, and greet employers. These skills are practiced through interactive role-playing scenarios that prepare students for real babysitting experiences.
