USA Archery Certified instructors from Phoenix Archery will bring equipment and be hosting a safe and fun open range night for archery enthusiasts.  Please register for the appropriate skill level.

Southern NH Tour of Lights

The Southern New Hampshire Tour of Lights is returning to a town near you  this holiday season.  Residents are encouraged to decorate the exterior  of their homes with festive lights this upcoming holiday season and then  register your address with the Merrimack Parks & Recreation  Department no later than Wednesday, December 3rd. This will guarantee your home is included in the official list of homes on the Southern New  Hampshire Tour of Lights.

The Southern New Hampshire Tour of lights is a free event and collaboration among  communities in Southern New Hampshire.

On  Friday, December 5th, we will publicize a master list to the general public of all of the addresses in the communities who are participating in the Southern New Hampshire Tour of Lights. The purpose of this event is to provide a free family friendly activity to go and and explore  festive lights and decorations this holiday season in Southern New  Hampshire.

Each home that is registered for the Southern New  Hampshire Tour of Lights will be entered into a drawing to win a gift  certificate to a local restaurant of their choosing. The winner will be announced on December 5th.

 Do you like to spend time outdoors? Accidents happen; if you or someone in your group got hurt, would you know what to do? People get hurt, sick, or lost.  Many back country emergencies are preventable and even when bad things happen, sometimes the wrong care can make things worse.

Wilderness First Aid is the perfect course for the outdoor enthusiast or trip leader who wants more than basic level of first aid training for short trips with family, friends, and outdoor groups. The 16 hour long (two-day) program focuses on the skills of: Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies.

Those who complete the course and pass the written and practical skills will receive a Wilderness First Aid certification from SOLO which is valid for 2 years. SOLO is among the leaders in Wilderness Medicine Training and certification. Coffee and snacks will be provided each day.

Join Holt Ave Community Training Center at Merrimack Parks and Recreation for this CPR and AED course.

After successful competition of this course you will be able to administer hands on CPR, Use and AED, Help a choking adult, and Identify signs and symptoms of cardiac arrest.

Boston Pops Holiday Concert

The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and Conductor Keith Lockhart return to SNHU Arena for their sparkling and beloved HOLIDAY POPS CONCERT on Sunday, December 7th.

The Boston Pops will perform their signature “Sleigh Ride,” as well as other holiday classics, and new arrangements of seasonal favorites. Santa Claus himself will make a guest appearance during the concert’s finale followed by the traditional Boston Pops Holiday Sing-a-long to bring this special performance to a close.

The Parks & Recreation Department has been able to secure a limited number of tickets is Section 126, Rows, N, P & Q. Seats are sold on a first come first serve basis and we do expect to sell out.

*By purchasing tickets from us;  you avoid paying the Ticketmaster transaction fees which saves you approximately $18 per ticket. Price is for ticket only; transportation to SNHU Arena is not provided. After purchase, tickets will be mailed out to you in Mid to late  November.

Merrimack Parks & Recreation has teamed up with Best of Times Travel for this excursion to see the Tall Ships in Boston Harbor as part of America's 250th birthday. This  spectacular event offers crews, cadets and visitors from all over the world an unforgettable experience and a world-class maritime celebration. 


The year 2026 marks the 250th Anniversary of our nation's founding in 1776 - the United States Sesquicentennial. For this milestone occasion, a fleet of the world's most magnificent international Tall Ships and military ships, will sail into the port of Boston as part of SAIL250. 


Join us in experiencing the wonder and excitement of it all as we sail thru Boston's historic harbor on the Provincetown II, capturing magnificent views of the fleet. We'll l be viewing it all from the best vantage point possible - the water!  Not only do you get the magnificence of the Tall Ships armada in Boston Harbor but this trip includes a great buffet meal at Danversport Yacht Club and light entertainment.
