Come and join Merrimack Parks & Recreation each month for our new walking program "Footprints & Fresh Air.
Each month we will visit one of Merrimack's Town Parks or Conservation Areas for an easy 1 mile walk in the Park; which will be led by Parks & Recreation Committee member Brian Landrigan. All participants will receive a map as well as things to observe during the hike.
The goal of this program is to get people outdoors and walking while enjoying some of Merrimack's finest open space and natural areas.

Come join the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department on Thursday, September 18th and test your luck as as we travel down to the Encore Boston Harbor Casino in Massachusetts.
You don’t need to be an experienced game player to enjoy this trip. There is something for people of all skill levels. As part of registration fee, all participants will receive a $20.00 free slot play coupon.
The bus will depart from Twin Bridge Park in Merrimack (485 Daniel Webster Highway). at 9:00 am and will departs Casino at 2:30 pm to return at approximately 4:00 pm.

Join Merrimack Parks and Recreation and Author/Presenter Martin Gitlin for a fun and enlightening program that will really entertain!
This entertaining and enlightening program will take you back to one of the greatest musical eras in American history. Enjoy video presentations of such artists as Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Everly Brothers, Fats Domino, the Coasters and Dion and the Belmonts with author and pop culture historian Marty Gitlin. Marty will discuss the impact these rock and roll pioneers made on society and pop culture. He will also challenge patrons with trivia questions and interact with a Q&A after the event. This one is a lot of fun so please join in!
Program will take place at the John O' Leary Center. Coffee and Snacks will be provided!

Join Merrimack Parks and Recreation on this fun day adventure to visit the unique and stunning, historic Lucknow country estate, The property spans 6,300 acres and features a 16-room Arts and Crafts mansion, stable and six-car garage, two gatehouses, a greenhouse, a golf course and tennis court, a man-made lake, a boathouse on Lake Winnipesaukee, and miles of carriage and bridle trails.
One the way home, the bus will stop at Harts Turkey Farm for included lunch. Lunch will include Salad, Rolls, Choice of Entrée (Turkey Roast Beef, Broiled Haddock, Baked Ham) Desert, and coffee.

The Naticook Challenge 5K Obstacle Course Race returns to Wasserman Park on Saturday October 4th for it's sixth year. Come and join Merrimack Parks & Recreation for this Annual 5K Race that is both fun and challenging to test your abilities.
If you are new to this, you may be asking yourself, what is an obstacle course race? It is a trail based race that takes place within Wasserman Park as well as on the Conservation Trails that border the Park and that involves challenges for the other parts of your body (crawling, climbing, or hanging for examples). The course is a 5k distance and includes 8 or more beginner to intermediate level obstacles. There are obstacle bypass exercises available if unable to complete an obstacle. The first 150 registered participants will receive an official Naticook Challenge Runners T-Shirt and finisher medal.

Take a fun and nostalgic journey through the most iconic and greatest era of rock-and-roll history with author and pop culture historian Marty Gitlin. This presentation highlights performance videos of influential British Invasion superstars such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks, Hollies, Dave Clark Five and The Who as well as American bands that provided a wonderful reply such as the Beach Boys, Mamas and Papas, Temptations, Simon & Garfunkel, Turtles and Rascals. The program also discusses how these artists influenced pop culture and society, compares and contrasts the music, and includes trivia questions for patrons to ponder (including snippets of songs from which patrons must identify the band!). The presentation will conclude with a question-and-answer period. This program is a lot of fun so join in!
