Upcoming Programs & Events

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Naticook After School Program for the 2025–2026 school year.

The Naticook After School Program provides a safe, supportive environment for children in grades K–6 during the after-school hours. The program follows the Merrimack School District calendar.

For the upcoming school year, bus transportation will be available for students attending the following schools:

• Mastricola Elementary School 
• Thornton's Ferry Elementary School 
• Reeds Ferry Elementary School 
• James Mastricola Upper Elementary School
   

Families may choose to enroll their child for 1 to 5 days per week, based on their needs at a rate of $26/day for the first child in the household and additional children at a rate of $21/day. 

Registration requires a deposit of just $1 per day. Program fees will be billed on the last day of each month. Advanced registration is required and spaces are limited.

Get an early start to your weekend and join Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department now on Thursday Nights this summer for our free weekly Summer Concert Series: Thursday Night Live at Abbie Griffin Park. 

Concerts will be held on Thursday Nights this year starting at 6:00 pm and each week features a different musical style. Come on down and bring your family & friends along with your lawn chairs, and dinner and enjoy "Thursday Night Live each week"

Three separate sessions to help get your child ready for camp! Drop off your little one to have art and fitness fun with Miss Jen!  Each day is a  different fun theme. Snack included. **Child must be potty trained or parent will be called for diaper change.

The  Town of Merrimack's 4th of July Celebration is a public / private partnership between the Town of Merrimack Parks & Recreation  Department who coordinates the July 3rd Holiday Concert in the Park with the Merrimack Concert Association; the Annual 4th of July Parade and  the Fireworks Display. 

The Rotary Club of Merrimack coordinates the Annual Pancake Breakfast and the Merrimack Road Runners Boosters Club who coordinates the Annual Sparkler 5K Road Race on the morning of July 4th.

 How  do you get to the beach on Block Island? Walk in any direction: the  entire perimeter of the 3-by-7 mile island is virtually lined with them,  17 miles worth and all free and open to the public. Don't want to go to  the beach? No problem.

There is more to Block Island than gorgeous beaches. With more than 50  stores and specialty shops, and numerous art galleries, Block Island  offers a diverse shopping experience. The Island's plentiful shops offer  casual souvenirs as well as unique gifts from around the world and  antiques.
 

Trip is open to both residents & non-residents. Participants under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an Adult.

Wasserman Park Beach

The  American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard Certification course provides participants  the knowledge and skills to prevent recognize and respond to aquatic  emergencies in both shallow water (less than 7 feet) and deeper water (7  feet or more) and to provide professional level care for breathing and  cardiac emergencies injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel  take over. 

Participants  who successfully  complete this course receive an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (including deep water) with CPR/AED for Professional  Rescuers and First Aid valid for 2 years and Waterfront  Skills valid for  2 years.
