Southern NH Tour of Lights

The Southern New Hampshire Tour of Lights is returning to a town near you  this holiday season.  Residents are encouraged to decorate the exterior  of their homes with festive lights this upcoming holiday season and then  register your address with the Merrimack Parks & Recreation  Department no later than Wednesday, December 3rd. This will guarantee your home is included in the official list of homes on the Southern New  Hampshire Tour of Lights.

On Friday, December 5th, we will publicize a master list of addresses to the general public of all of the addresses in the communities who are participating in the Southern New Hampshire Tour of Lights. The purpose of this event is to provide a free family friendly activity to go and and explore  festive lights and decorations this holiday season in Southern New  Hampshire.

Each home that is registered for the Southern New  Hampshire Tour of Lights will be entered into a drawing to win a gift  certificate to a local restaurant of their choosing. The winner will be announced on December 5th.

Parents Night Out - Princess Party

Calling all little royals! Join Merrimack Parks and Recreation staff for a  magical evening of sparkle and fun at our Princess Party! Come dressed  in your favorite princess PJs and get ready for an enchanted night of  activities fit for royalty.
 

  • Our royal guests will enjoy:
    Princess Hair-Dos – Get your hair styled like a true princess!
  • Face Painting & Coloring Station – Add a little extra sparkle to your royal look and create your own princess masterpiece.
  • Dance Party – Twirl and spin the night away at our magical dance floor.
  • Pizza Dinner – Every princess needs a royal feast!
     

It’s a night full of imagination, laughter, and fun for our youngest royals!

Turkey Quest: Wasserman Park Scavenger Hunt

Join  Merrimack Parks & Recreation for a family-friendly adventure at   Wasserman Park! Turkey Quest is back, and it’s bigger and more fun than   ever. Grab your friends and family, sharpen your detective skills, and   get ready to seek, snap, and score your way to a Thanksgiving feast!
 

Your  mission: explore the park on  foot, uncover hidden clues, and capture  creative photos of special  items. Each discovery earns points, so  teamwork and strategy will be  key. The first three families to reach 150  points or more will each win  a 17-pound Thanksgiving turkey — perfect  for your holiday table!
 

Come  for the adventure, stay for  the friendly competition, and leave with  memories — and maybe a turkey!  Don’t miss this festive, photo-filled  scavenger hunt.

Wilderness First Aid

 Do  you like to spend time outdoors? Accidents happen; if you or someone in  your group got hurt, would you know what to do? People get hurt, sick,  or lost.  Many back country emergencies are preventable and even when  bad things happen, sometimes the wrong care can make things worse.
 

Wilderness  First Aid is the perfect course for the outdoor enthusiast or trip  leader who wants more than basic level of first aid training for short  trips with family, friends, and outdoor groups. The 16 hour long  (two-day) program focuses on the skills of: Response and Assessment,  Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills,  Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies.
 

Those  who complete the course and pass the written and practical skills will  receive a Wilderness First Aid certification from SOLO which is valid  for 2 years. SOLO is among the leaders in Wilderness Medicine Training  and certification. Coffee and snacks will be provided each day.

Come  and join Merrimack Parks & Recreation and Staff from Camp Naticook  during this no school day camp program with activities designed to keep  your children busy and entertained all day long.

 

We  will spend our day at Wasserman Park where children will participate in  a variety of sports, games, arts & crafts projects, nature  exploration, outdoor activities and much more. 


A daily hot lunch is  included in the cost of your tuition.  Advanced registration is required  and spaces are limited.  Pick up and drop off at Wasserman Park - no  bus transportation provided.

The Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department is thrilled to invite you to join us on Sunday, December 7th as we kick off the official holiday season with one of Merrimack’s most beloved traditions — the 33rd Annual Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting  Celebration!


This year’s theme is “Home Alone Hijinks”,  promising floats with festive creativity, laughter, and plenty of  holiday spirit. Expect mischievous moments, clever costumes, and  “Kevin-worthy” holiday magic as the community comes together to  celebrate!

Boston Pops Holiday Concert

The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and Conductor Keith Lockhart return to SNHU Arena for their sparkling and beloved HOLIDAY POPS CONCERT on  Sunday, December 7th.
 

The  Boston Pops will perform their signature “Sleigh Ride,” as well as  other holiday classics, and new arrangements of seasonal favorites.  Santa Claus himself will make a guest appearance during the concert’s  finale followed by the traditional Boston Pops Holiday Sing-a-long to  bring this special performance to a close.
 

The  Parks & Recreation Department has been able to secure a limited  number of tickets is Section 126, Rows, N, P & Q. Seats are sold on a  first come first serve basis and we do expect to sell out.

Bright Nights at Forest Park & Yankee Candle Bus Trip

Come and join Merrimack Parks & Recreation as we travel down to Spirit of Springfield's Bright Nights Christmas lights show and also stop at the Yankee Candle Village

Travel through a dazzling wonderland of over 750,00 lights at Bright Nights at Forest Park. This three-mile drive-thru spectacular features festive scenes, iconic characters, and peaceful gardens, all illuminated for a joyous holiday experience.

Sweeten your trip at our Fudge Shop and Yankee Candy – featuring 125 different types of candy. We will stop here for one and a half hours on our trip down to Bright Nights.
