

The Watson Park Ice Skating Rink is officially OPEN for the season as of 12/26/25! Grab your skates and head to 441 Daniel Webster Highway for some fresh-air winter fun.
A huge thank-you to our Public Works Department for working their magic and getting the rink ready for everyone to enjoy. 👏
Before you hit the ice, a few friendly reminders:
1. Skate at your own risk. The rink is free and open to all.
2. Be mindful of fellow skaters and their abilities.
3. Follow all posted signs and rules.
4. Recreational skating only. No organized hockey or programs.
5. Everyone gets a turn. No kicking others off the ice.
6. Bring your own skates. No rentals available on site.

5 Signs Your Child is Ready To Be "Home Alone".
-Desires to be home alone and isn't afraid

-Demonstrates independence and self-discipline
Learn the basics of being safe when home alone for short periods of time. We’ll talk about how to answer the telephone and door, internet safety, first aid techniques, accident prevention, fire protection and more will be discussed. Youth will have a better understanding of responsibility & independence.
This is an interactive class. Each student will receive a handbook and make a first aid kit. Class will be held in the Function Hall at Wasserman Park.

Safe Sitter® prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Participants will learn tips to manage behavior along with the ages and stages of child development. Class will also include rescue skills such as choking rescue and CPR and how to assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Lastly this course will teach participants how to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers to set students up for success now and in the future. Students practice these skills through various role plays.

Come and join Merrimack Parks & Recreation and staff from the Naticook After School Program over the February School Vacation week with activities designed to keep your children busy and entertained all week long. Children will participate in a variety of sports, games, arts & crafts projects, nature exploration, outdoor activities and much more designed to burn off some energy. A daily hot lunch is included in the cost of your tuition.
The program runs from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm on each of the scheduled days and the program is geared towards children in Grades K - 6. Sign up by the day or for for the entire week

Soak up the rich history, hear the echoes of the past and join the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department as we travel to Fenway Park. "America's Most Beloved Ballpark" is a place where dreams are made, traditions are celebrated and baseball is forever.
Traveling to Fenway Park on your own is not easy. Let us handle the transportation so you can enjoy the game. Cost of the trip is $115 per person and trip fee includes deluxe motorcoach transportation and a ticket to the game. Tickets are in the Infield Grandstand Section 22 (behind home plate)
Trip departs from the Exit 8 Park & Ride at 11:00 am. Game time is 1:35 pm.
*The Boston Red Sox uses digital ticketing with the MLB app and you will need a smart phone so that we can transfer the tickets to you electronically before the game.
