he Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department has begun planning for the 29th Annual Winter Carnival; which will be held on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Wasserman Park.
The purpose of this FREE Annual Event is to bring families outdoors during the winter and get them participating in a variety of fun and free activities. Similar in concept to our Halloween Event in the Fall, the entire event will be held outdoors and will travel in a per-designated route around the park which uses the park road system (which will be closed vehicular traffic).
While this is a FREE event, attendees must register their families in advance for a specific timed ticket when they can enter the event. Only those families with a ticket will be allowed to enter. When you register you will need to select the total # of people in your family that will be attending. There is a maximum of 6 people per family that can attend. Families must remain socially distant from other families.
COVID-19 Rules & Regulations: What this year's event will look like?
All of our community partners will setup games and activities around the edge of the Park Road. This is a walking event for families to participate in and attendees had to preregister for the free ticket for a specific time slot to arrive at the event. The plan is that you will have a steady and continuous stream of people coming to your table 1 family at a time.
When the participants arrive and check in near the Parks & Recreation Department Office, they will be directed to wait in a socially distanced queue before we let them actually enter the event. We will then be spacing out their entrance into the event to approximately every 2 minutes.
Attendees will visit each community partner in a specific order so that we do not have large crowds gathering in any one location. Attendees should not be spending more than 2 minutes at your activity in order to keep the flow moving.
Even though we are outdoors; masks will be required for both attendees and community partners when social distancing cannot be maintained to ensure that everyone remains safe. Each of your stations will also have hand sanitizer available.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE REGISTERING YOUR FAMILY AS A FAMILY UNIT AND NOT COMPLETING A SEPARATE REGISTRATION FORM FOR EACH MEMBER OF THE FAMILY. EACH FAMILY MAY ONLY REGISTER FOR 1 TIME SLOT. DUPLICATION OF FAMILIES WILL BE REMOVED AND THE DUPLICATE TICKETS WILL BE VOIDED.
In order to comply with the State of NH COVID-19 Guidelines and allow for proper social distancing; we had to limit the number of people who could attend the event. As such, this year's event is restricted to Merrimack, NH Residents Only!
Those who register must present their ticket to enter the event. Walk In's will not be permitted. After you complete your registration, you will receive an email with your electronic ticket. You must bring the ticket with you to the event in order to check in.
